Applications and Admissions

General Policies:

Applicants may be considered for admission to TTUHSC providing they meet all published entrance requirements established by each school. The completed application, transcripts, test scores and other applicable qualifying factors constitute the basis upon which eligibility is considered.

To the extent provided by applicable law, no person shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any program or activity sponsored or conducted by the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran status, or disability. TTUHSC will make maximum use of resources, consistent with standards of appropriate accrediting bodies and enrollment and admissions policies approved by the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System, to admit and educate as many qualified students as possible.

Grade point averages considered during the admissions process are calculated in accordance with rules established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Title 19 Texas Administrative Code §5.7). Courses used to meet admissions prerequisite requirements will be transferred in accordance with TTUHSC Transfer Credit Guidelines and Procedures.


School of Allied Health Sciences Admissions

To apply to all SOAHS programs please use the following link: TTUHSC Online Merlin Application.

To apply to the School of Allied Health Sciences' Physician Assistant Studies program, you must apply through CASPA. Please send all application materials, including updated fall transcripts, through CASPA. Applicants must complete the secondary TTUHSC PA Supplemental Application as well as the CASPA application. Please click on the TTUHSC Online Merlin Application link to fill out the Secondary TTUHSC PA Supplemental Application. Please read the Instructions for Completing the PA Supplemental Application.

Some programs accept applications after the application deadline if the class is not filled. Please check with the School of Allied Health Sciences Admissions office for more information. Medical School Admissions

TTUHSC School of Medicine

To apply for the TTUHSC School of Medicine, you must fill out the TMDSAS Application and the TTUHSC Secondary Application.

The School of Medicine offers degrees in the following programs. For detailed admissions information, visit the School of Medicine.

  • MD/MBA
  • MD/PhD
  • JD/MD
  • FMAT

Paul L. Foster School of Medicine - El Paso

To apply for the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, you must fill out the TMDSAS Application. As of May 1, 2013 Paul L. Foster School of Medicine requires a Secondary Application.

Nursing School Admissions

TTUHSC School of Nursing

Although the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing is a part of the Texas Tech University System, legally it is a separate institution from Texas Tech University and therefore application for admission must be made directly to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing - El Paso

Although the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing is a part of the Texas Tech University System, legally it is a separate institution from Texas Tech University and therefore application for admission must be made directly to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

The School of Pharmacy offers degrees in the following programs. To apply to the School of Pharmacy you must fill out a separate application for each program.


Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences

To apply to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, you must fill out the online application in our new TTUHSC Online Admissions Application Wizard system (Merlin).
