TTUHSC – SOP consistently ranks among the upper one-third of the nation's accredited colleges and schools of pharmacy in research funding, the percentage of Ph.D.-level faculty who are funded by the National Institutes of Health and in total NIH funding. SOP researchers also rank among the nation's best in obtaining research funding from non-NIH entities and in their combined NIH and non-NIH research funding.
The SOP is engaged with the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health and provides support to SOP investigators through internal grant funding and the Entrepreneur Alliance of Amarillo, a non-profit consortium that allows the SOP faculty with biotech research/ideas the opportunity to maximize collaborative endeavors.
TTUHSC-SOP has four centers for research excellence: The Center for Cancer Biology Research, The Center for Blood-Brain Barrier Research, The Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Center and The Center for Immunotherapeutic Research.
