Emergency Medicine Residency - El Paso
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME accredited 3 year program. The program which began in 1982 has 24 resident positions, 8 at each level plus 14 EM board certified faculty. Our patient base includes Southwest Texas, New Mexico and the border city of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

The goal of medical education (residency training) is to become certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) to practice in a medical specialty. The Texas Tech residency programs are developed in the context of the Physician General Competencies as expressed by the ABMS and the ACGME. Those are:
