Volunteer Services

Make a Difference: Volunteer in Healthcare at TTUHSC
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Volunteer Services has provided service opportunities in a healthcare setting for more than 25 years. Thousands of participants have gained practical experience in many healthcare related fields. Many have continued forward as a result of their volunteer experience and have become physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Whatever your passion, our mission is to provide you with an opportunity to make a difference in our community and beyond.
Volunteer Opportunities
Looking to gain hands-on experience in healthcare as you plan your future or prepare to apply to medical, nursing, or allied health programs? Becoming a TTUHSC volunteer could be the perfect opportunity. Our volunteer program allows students to serve the community while learning about patient care and the healthcare industry.
Volunteers have the chance to work across more than 16 clinics associated with Texas Tech Physicians, supporting both primary and specialty care. Many clinics rely on volunteers for a variety of clerical and patient-focused tasks to help accomplish their mission. Volunteers also assist patients and visitors at the Medical Pavilion information desk, providing directions, escorting them to appointments, and offering general guidance within our facility.
Opportunities are available each school session, and applications are accepted before the start of each semester. Check back for updates and to learn more about how you can get involved.

FAQs
Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock is the largest medical practice in West Texas. Located in the Hub City of the Plains, we have the most specialty clinics of the three Texas Tech Physicians locations. You can view all of our clinics here.
Unfortunately, we require a background check for all volunteers. Since a social security number is needed to provide consent for the background check, we are unable to accept your application at this time.
Typically, it takes approximately 5-7 business days or longer depending on the completion of the self-paced requirements.
