It is a strong and growing department with a close faculty-fellow/resident/student interrelationship. We have a strong foundation in general internal medicine plus related subspecialties.

ACGME Full Accreditation
The TTUHSC Permian Basin Department of Internal Medicine resident training program operates under the status of continued full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The ACGME establishes national standards for programs and regularly inspects those programs for assurances of compliance. Our resident program currently enjoys the highest level of accreditation possible. The program also operates under campus level governance according to the House Staff Policies and Procedures, which are updated annually to assure the welfare of physicians-in-training.
Residency Training Program
The program is a fully accredited three-year residency designed to provide practical and didactic education in the broad field of internal medicine.
