In 1999, the Office of Alumni Relations began recognizing our alumni to honor their accomplishments and contributions and to serve as an inspiration to their colleagues and future alumni. Awards are presented to those alumni who have achieved a high level of success in their chosen fields or whose efforts have made a positive impact on community or humanity, bringing distinction to themselves and to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. We encourage alumni, faculty, staff and friends to nominate deserving alumni for these awards.
To be eligible for an alumni award, an individual must:
1. Have graduated from a degree program within TTUHSC.
2. Have demonstrated integrity and stature that inspire faculty, staff, students,
and alumni.
3. Have attained prominence and made outstanding contributions to their community,
profession, and TTUHSC.
4. Not be a previous recipient of a TTUHSC Distinguished Alumni Award.
5. Not be a current member of the Board or Regents, or the selection committee.
6. Not be running for local, state or national office during the years they
are eligible for the award. Publicly elected
officials may be nominated two years after completion of their term of
office.
2025 Presidential Distinguished Alumni Award
The Presidential Distinguished Alumni Award honors alumni who have made significant contributions to the health care profession and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the university.

Annually, each school honors and recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to the university.
Distinguished Alumni Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have made significant contributions to
society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC
Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Pharmacy Research Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have demonstrated excellence in research
and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC School
of Pharmacy.
Excellence in Practice Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have demonstrated excellence in pharmacy
practice and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to
TTUHSC School of Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Leadership Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have demonstrated leadership in professional
organizations, health care, and/or community service and whose accomplishments and
careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC School of Pharmacy.
Distinguished Alumni Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have made significant contributions to
society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC
School of Population and Public Health.
Department of Laboratory Sciences and Primary Care Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who are graduates of one of the following
programs: Clinical Laboratory Sciences (B.S., Post Baccalaureate, Certificate), Molecular
Pathology (M.S.), and Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS).
Department of Rehabilitation Sciences Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have graduated from one of the following
programs: Athletic Training (MAT), Physical Therapy (DPT tDPT and Sc.D.), Occupational
Therapy (MOT), and Rehabilitation Sciences (Ph.D.).
Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have graduated from one of the following
programs: Audiology (Au.D.), Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (B.S. and Post
Baccalaureate), Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.), and Communication Sciences and Disorders
(Ph.D.).
Department of Clinic Counseling and Mental Health Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who are graduates of one of the following
programs: Rehabilitation Counseling (MRC).
Department of Healthcare Management and Leadership Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who are graduates of one of the following
programs: Healthcare Management (B.S.) and Healthcare Administration (M.S.).
Distinguished Alumni Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have made significant contributions to
society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC
School of Medicine.
Community Advocacy Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have demonstrated exceptional service
and devotion to their community and whose accomplishments and careers have brought
significant credit to TTUHSC School of Nursing.
Excellence in Clinical Care Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who have demonstrated exceptional clinical
care and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC
School of Nursing.
Leadership in Health Care Award
This award recognizes and honors alumni who been advocates for the School of Nursing
and whose accomplishments and careers have brought significant credit to TTUHSC School
of Nursing.
