Don't Miss a Step: Your Application Checklist
Applications for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences opened on September 1, and while you still have plenty of time to apply, now is the perfect moment to make sure you’re on track. To keep things simple, here’s your step-by-step application checklist.
1. Create your BioRaider.com account
This is your starting point. Once your account is set up, you’ll be able to access the application portal and track your progress along the way.
2. Complete your online application
The application is broken into several sections, so take your time and double-check each one before moving on:
- Personal Information – your basic details.
- Demographics – standard background information.
- Plans – what program you’re applying to and your academic goals.
- Academics – your education history.
- Oath of Residency – required for Texas residency status.
- Writing & Signature – final confirmations and statements.
Pro tip: save as you go! You don’t have to finish everything in one sitting.
3. Submit your supplemental items
Once the application itself is complete, make sure these pieces are uploaded or sent:
- $50 application fee
- 2–4 letters of reference
- Oath of residency form
- Official college transcripts
Pro tip: Submit your complete Ph.D. application(application and supplemental items)
before December 1 and we'll waive your application fee!
4. Additional requirements (if applicable)
International applicants must also include:
- Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent)
- Transcript evaluations
- Financial documentation showing ability to cover the first year of study
- Sponsored statement of understanding and government financial guarantee letter (if funded by a home country scholarship)
GMES program applicants must also submit:
- GRE or MCAT scores
Final tip: Letters of reference and transcripts are often the slowest pieces to arrive, so request those as soon as possible.
